Hefted! Upland Farming Heritage in the Cheviots
Hefted! is an eight-episode series produced in collaboration with researchers at Durham University with nearly 2,000 listens. The show is based on a series of eleven oral histories recorded as part of an earlier research project, as well as five additional interviews I carried out specifically for the project.
I worked with the Prof Chris Gerrard and Dr Chris Dalglish to develop a successful proposal for the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council’s ‘follow-on funding’ grant stream, stewarding the podcast from start to finish.
My services included:
thematic analysis of oral histories and organisation into eight episodes;
script-writing in collaboration with the research team;
contracting and directing the presenter;
contracting and sourcing the show artwork and music;
drafting, editing and mixing all episodes; and
uploading and distributing episodes across podcast channels.
